{"id":837,"date":"2012-10-06T09:27:14","date_gmt":"2012-10-06T13:27:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/renewaloffaith.org\/blog\/?p=837"},"modified":"2012-10-06T09:27:14","modified_gmt":"2012-10-06T13:27:14","slug":"100-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.renewaloffaith.org\/blog\/100-days\/","title":{"rendered":"100 Days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week I passed the 100 day mark as pastor.\u00a0 It has been a very busy 100 days.\u00a0 When I was preparing to leave my last assignment as the Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of the Lakes, a few people said to me that as pastor, I would end up working even more hours.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t believe that to be true because\u00a0I already was already working a lot of hours.<\/p>\n<p>Turns out they were right.\u00a0 I am working even more hours.\u00a0 There are a few reasons for this.\u00a0 One of them is I am the <em>only <\/em>priest in the parish so I do all the funerals and emergency calls.\u00a0 As pastor, I attend even more meetings.\u00a0 There is also the workshops for new pastors that I have attended.\u00a0 There is the simple fact that I am new to the parish and am learning about the parish and our parishioners.\u00a0 That takes time.\u00a0 When people make requests for activities, I have to find out if it has ever been done before or is there anything similar already going on.\u00a0 The bottom line is I am working more hours.<\/p>\n<p>There is also the added responsibility I have as pastor which I take very seriously.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t hand decisions off to someone else.\u00a0 I do try to delegate work but ultimately the decisions are mine.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, in the midst of all this, I know God is with me.\u00a0 If God wasn&#8217;t helping, I could not do what I do.\u00a0 God ensures his Will be done.\u00a0 In God we trust.<\/p>\n<p>Peace,<\/p>\n<p>Fr.
