I realized yesterday that it has been a few days since I have written here.\u00a0 There are typically two reasons for when I don’t write something here.\u00a0 The first is that I don’t have the inspiration to write something and the second is that I don’t have the time to write.\u00a0 My reason for not writing this time is a little of the first but mostly the second.\u00a0 This week has been a busy week.<\/p>\n

It is isn’t that I had a lot of meetings.\u00a0 There were some including yesterday’s meeting with some of the area priests as a simple opportunity to get us all on the same page.\u00a0 Tuesday evening was a Stewardship Committee Meeting to work on preparations for our annual commitment weekend.\u00a0 Thursday evening brought an “interview” with\u00a0a young girl (with her mother) who will be making her First Communion and First Reconciliation during the coming year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Then there has been plenty of one-on-one discussions about things like the upcoming Year of Faith, evangelization activities, CYO basketball, Sacramental Preparation, cemetery maintenance, and preparing for the opening of the school year in just two weeks.<\/p>\n

I am finding there is always plenty to do as pastor.\u00a0 I continue to learn about the place and seek to discover God’s vision for the parish.\u00a0 With everything that goes on here I would expect to feel a bit overwhelmed at times but I don’t.\u00a0 I might feel a bit overworked but not overwhelmed.\u00a0 The difference is God’s Grace.\u00a0 God is keeping me at peace and that is a wonderful gift.\u00a0 To me, that is God saying I am where I am supposed to be and that He is at my side and will guide me through if I let Him.<\/p>\n

Sometimes we think that if we believe in Jesus we shouldn’t have any problems.\u00a0 Jesus never says that.\u00a0 He does say “my yoke is easy … my burden light.”\u00a0 Our problems don’t disappear but they are a whole lot easier with Jesus at our sides.<\/p>\n
