{"id":624,"date":"2011-11-26T07:41:08","date_gmt":"2011-11-26T12:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/renewaloffaith.org\/blog\/?p=624"},"modified":"2011-11-26T07:41:08","modified_gmt":"2011-11-26T12:41:08","slug":"one-last-article-on-the-new-translations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.renewaloffaith.org\/blog\/one-last-article-on-the-new-translations\/","title":{"rendered":"One Last Article on the New Translations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here is my last <strong><em>regular<\/em><\/strong> bulletin article on the new translations.<\/p>\n<p>Bulletin Article for 11\/27\/2011<\/p>\n<p>Appreciating the New Translations<\/p>\n<p>Today, we begin using the new translations.\u00a0 We may trip up on the words, forgetting to say \u201cAnd with your spirit\u201d instead of \u201cand also with you.\u201d\u00a0 It may seem strange at first but we will adjust.\u00a0 If nothing else, it will make us think.\u00a0 Sometimes we may say the words without thinking about them.\u00a0 We need to remember what it means to say that Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.\u00a0 That\u2019s what the priest\u2019s says at Communion (The words come from John 1:29).\u00a0 To which the people have been saying \u201cLord, I am not worthy to receive you but only say the word and I shall be healed.\u201d\u00a0 This becomes \u201cLord, I am not worthy that you should under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cUnder my roof\u201d may seem strange but it is another scriptural reference lost in the past translation.\u00a0 It comes from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usccb.org\/bible\/luke\/7\" target=\"_blank\">Luke 7:6-7<\/a>.\u00a0 Check it out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is my last regular bulletin article on the new translations.
