“Lord, this is the people that longs to see our face.”<\/p>\n
This is the responsorial verse for today’s readings<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 Today we celebrate the feast of All Saints.\u00a0 Throughout the year, there are countless saints who are honored with a feast day.\u00a0 There are many people who have never been declared a saint but are, in fact, saints.\u00a0 Thus, we celebrate this day to honor all <\/em>those who have gone home to God’s heavenly kingdom.\u00a0 All who reside in heaven with God are counted among the saints.<\/p>\n We who are still living the earthly life are the “people that longs to see your face.”\u00a0 As Christians, our destiny is Heaven.\u00a0 So, we honor those who have achieved their destiny.\u00a0 We do not worship the saints.\u00a0 God is the only one we worship.\u00a0 We venerate saints.\u00a0<\/p>\n We cannot earn our way into Heaven.\u00a0 We are imperfect and we sin.\u00a0 Fortunately, Jesus has paid the price for our sins.\u00a0<\/p>\n Does that we have it easy now, that we have to do is wait until it is our time?\u00a0 No, we must strive to life as Christ calls us to.\u00a0 It begins<\/em> with the Beatitudes found in today’s gospel<\/a>.<\/p>\n It is in striving to live the life that Jesus calls us to that we\u00a0pray for the help of the saints.\u00a0\u00a0However, it is not the saints themselves that answer our prayers.\u00a0 They\u00a0cannot perform miracles or intervene in our lives.\u00a0\u00a0As the ones who reside in the Heavenly Kingdom, they pray to God, asking for our help.<\/p>\n Peace,<\/p>\n Fr.
