Christmas is important!\u00a0 It is the birth of our savior.\u00a0 God gives us the gift of his Son, Jesus.\u00a0 There can be no greater gift!\u00a0 People will spend much time shopping for the greatest gift but the greatest gift ever cannot be found in a store.\u00a0 The greatest gift is FREE!\u00a0 It is Jesus!<\/p>\n
Christmas has become very commercialized.\u00a0 Christmas can get taken over by materialism.\u00a0 As a kid, I loved all the presents, Christmas cookies, and parties.\u00a0 Now, there is just one thing I focus on for Christmas, being in Church and hearing the original Christmas story.<\/p>\n
When I see people try to rush to Christmas at Thanksgiving, I want to say, “No, it’s not Christmas yet. First we need to spend Advent thinking about what the coming of Christ means for us!”\u00a0 When Christmas does come I like the traditional Christmas songs like\u00a0O Come All Ye Faithful, Silent Night,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Joy to the Word<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>However, when I see the commercialization of Christmas and the lines it brings at the stores, there is one modern Christmas song that I turn to remember what line we really need to be in.\u00a0 It is\u00a0Where’s the Line to See Jesus<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>by Becky Kelley.\u00a0 You can watch the official music video at\u00a0https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OExXItDyWEY<\/a>.<\/p>\n Peace,<\/p>\n Fr.
