{"id":1118,"date":"2013-06-08T13:20:04","date_gmt":"2013-06-08T17:20:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/renewaloffaith.org\/blog\/?p=1118"},"modified":"2013-06-08T13:20:04","modified_gmt":"2013-06-08T17:20:04","slug":"standing-for-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.renewaloffaith.org\/blog\/standing-for-life\/","title":{"rendered":"Standing For Life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Life is a precious gift.<\/p>\n<p>I pray everyday that &#8220;all who public office respect the dignity of all life from womb to tomb.&#8221;\u00a0 An individual&#8217;s life begins at conception.\u00a0 In earthly terms, a unique individual is created with a particular set of genes that will never exist again.\u00a0 In spiritual terms, each life is a gift to be cherished.\u00a0 Abortion ends life.\u00a0 The <a href=\"http:\/\/renewaloffaith.org\/blog\/?p=1074\" target=\"_blank\">death penalty <\/a>ends life.\u00a0 Euthanasia <a href=\"http:\/\/renewaloffaith.org\/sj\/sjlife.htm\" target=\"_blank\">ends life prematurely<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This week Governor Cuomo introduction women&#8217;s rights legislation.\u00a0 There is some good points in the legislation like women&#8217;s pay.\u00a0 Unfortunately, it will also open the door far wider for abortions.\u00a0 Have you taking the time to tell your state legislators that you stand for life?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nyscatholic.org\/2013\/06\/statement-of-the-bishops-of-new-york-state-on-abortion-expansion-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\">Click here to read the NYS Bishops&#8217; Statement on Governor Cuomo&#8217;s proposed legislation<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nyscatholicconference.capwiz.com\/nyscatholicconference\/issues\/alert\/?alertid=62331936\" target=\"_blank\">Click here to send your legislators and Governor Cuomo an email<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dor.org\/index.cfm\/news\/news-docs\/bus-trip-to-albany-june-12-to-oppose-abortion-expansion\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0Click here to learn about a prayer rally on June 12th and buses from the Diocese of Rochester<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Life is precious.\u00a0 Life is something to be cherished, never to be thrown away.\u00a0 Life doesn&#8217;t always turn out the way we would like but it is always a gift.\u00a0 I know of families with children with Down&#8217;s syndromes or other &#8220;challenges.&#8221;\u00a0 Is life easy for them?\u00a0 Not really but what is evident in those families is love.\u00a0 God is love and if we want to be loved\u00a0we need to love all, no matter what challenges they face.\u00a0 All life is a gift.<\/p>\n<p>Peace,<\/p>\n<p>Fr.
