Guidelines for Commenting

Here are some things to know about posting comments on the blog:

All submitted comments are subject to review before posting for offensive language, naming of political candidates or elected officials, or anything that personally identifies an individual other than yourself.  (You may refer to a person by name if you are responding to a comment they posted).

All submitted comments are subject to editing to remove anything listed above or for spelling and grammar.

All submitted comments will generally be posted within 24 hours (48 hours maximum unless I am away).

All submitted comments require your name and email for identification.

The blog is set up for open access for posting comments.  Anyone who repeatedly fails to follow these guidelines may be blocked from further commenting.

You must include your name and email.  Your email will not be displayed.  Please do not use phony emails.  Anyone using phone emails may be blocked.

I want to let you know I have been received a significant number of spam comments to this blog.  Of course, I have not allowed those comments to be posted.  Some of the comments have been written beginning with “thanking me” for the writing the blog but then have advertising information in them.  If you have written a comment and I have not posted it, it is because it looked like the spam I have been receiving.  To ensure posting of comments I ask that in your comment you include a specific reference to something I wrote to show its authenticity as a genuine comment and not spam.

I hope to never have to block anyone.  Let’s have constructive dialogue, be honest, and never speak ill of others.  Keep to what we believe.

Peace,

Fr. Jeff

    Dear Fr. Jeff –

I am writing as a parent and board member at Immaculate Conception School to welcome you to our community! We look forward to meeting you and working with you.

I also want to extend an invitation to you to attend our “For the Children” Benefit Auction this Saturday, April 28th, 6:30-10:30 pm in the Immaculate Conception School gymnasium. We know you are very busy, but if you are able to make it, we would love for you to be our guest! You can find more details at http://schools.dor.org/ic/news.cfm?story=5402

Whether you are able to attend on Saturday or not, you are in our prayers and we eagerly await your arrival in Ithaca.

    Blessings on you,

Thank you for the welcome and the invitation to the auction. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend but I hope and pray for the success of the auction as a fundraiser to continue the fine work of Immaculate Conception School. See you at the end of June.

    Peace,

    Fr. Jeff

My prayers are with you as you go to your new assignment. Immaculate Conception was our first church as a married couple. It was Sunday, the day after our wedding July 7th…55 years ago this year. Your new parish is close to our hearts. May God be with you. Kaye
